The tokens are yellow, 5-pointed rotating stars scattered across New York. In Driver: Parallel Lines, there are 50 Tokens in 1978 and 50 in 2006, (making 100 Tokens in total) each era has a different set of locations. Driver 76 has 125 Tokens. The locations of the stars are usually positioned above the player, collecting these often requires completing a jump to reach them.
Tokens are unlocked from the very start of the game, and can be collected while freeroaming or during missions.
The player can only collect Tokens when inside a vehicle. Speed and precision is usually needed in order to reach the stars. Once collected, a short slow-motion cinematic camera will be triggered as the player hits the star, before it bursts and the current number of collected stars is displayed. If Autosave is enabled, the game will Autosave immediately after collecting a star.
When a certain number of stars are collected, the player unlocks special bonuses:
10 Tokens: Health Increase - The player is given a 150% health capacity.[1]
20 Tokens: Nitrous Increase - The time length of nitrous bottles are doubled.
30 Tokens: Double Ammunition Capacity - The maximum capacity of all weapons is doubled.
40 Tokens: Double Car Durability - Cars are now twice as durable.
50 Tokens: Free Vehicle Upgrades - All upgrades in Ray's Autos are free.
Tokens can be collected over both eras of the game and the player can still unlock the bonuses; for example, if the player was to collect 5 Tokens in 1978 and 5 in 2006, the player would still unlock the 10 Token bonus.

Collecting stars during missions or Take a Ride mode will earn the player collectables, like music records, badges and clothes, with 4 levels of rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare and Very Rare.

Player must drive up to the top deck of the multi-story car park using the entrance, and run-up from the far side of the building to the ramp off the edge.
Underneath the freeway. Player must drive from the road just north of the location, driving between the roadway's pillars, and use the hill to reach the star.
Edge of the freeway off-ramps. Player must start from the land at the western side of the freeway, use the hill mounds at the side of the road as a ramp and jump to the star at the other side of the road.
Hidden location. Use the eastern-point entrance in-between the car park and the complex, progress through the maze of walls and reach to the back of the container.
Positioned above a road north of an industrial facility. Player will need to enter the yard and use the ramp to jump onto the metal girder. From there, drive north off the roof to collect.
Found on top of a metal girder in an industrial yard. Player will need to enter the yard from the west and use a ramp to jump onto the roof. From there, drive east onto the metal girder to collect.
Above a lake in the park. Positioned directly next to a foot bridge. Entering the park from the west, drive at speed towards the ramp positioned west of the token to jump.
Found near some containers in the industrial area. From the north, drive south at speed towards the dirt pile, jumping over the container to reach the token.
Above a foundation layout in the industrial area. From the south, drive north at speed off the main road, under a pylon, between two metal posts and hit the mud banking to reach the token.
Positioned in a gap above a service road in the industrial area. From the north-west, drive east along the edge above the service road before veering south, hitting the token.
Positioned on the edge of a warehouse roof. Head east alongside the lake before hitting the grass banking to jump onto the warehouse roof. Drive south-east off the roof to hit the token.
