Ray

Shell Shock is a mission in Driver: Parallel Lines.

Plot[]

Bishop has a shipment of ammunition at LaGuardia Airport. Ray creates a plan for TK to steal the shipment loaded on a red pickup truck inside the warehouse, but the warehouse is ambushed and TK must escape and deliver the load to Ray's Autos.

The following happens if the player also completed Gate Crasher beforehand.

After the mission, Bishop calls TK, telling him "let's sort this out for real", asking him to meet him at his place and have a one-on-one fight. TK states he'd kill him, but Bishop "will see".

Objectives[]

Get the pickup to Ray's Autos at La Guardia. [Back to top]
  • Once the mission has started, numerous ambush cars arrive, blocking the entrance to the warehouse, as well as several large trucks. The player then gains control, and almost immediately enemies begin to fire at the player inside the Boltus. The player must avoid several RPG's that are fired both inside and outside the warehouse. The player has to escape the complex, using the jump at the east of the parking lot, passing the containers. A large ramp leads out to the small airport approach road.
Lose the tail! [Back to top]
  • Once out of the area, remaining enemies as well as more pursuers will spawn and chase the player. They must be lost before reaching the garage.
Along the way, under the bridge leading towards Ray's Autos, a roadblock of four cars and numerous armed bodyguards spawns, and the player must use the car to ram through. They should then drive to the marker at Ray's Autos.

Pre-Mission Instructions[]

  1. Steal the ammo truck.
  2. Deliver the truck to Ray's Autos at La Guardia.
  3. Watch out for the cops.

Pre-Mission
Ray Word is, Bishop's been ordering some fancy ordinance. He's just had a delivery at the airport. I figure if we take it, he's gonna hurt. Head for the goods area back of the main terminal. There should be a pick-up already loaded - all you gotta do is pick it up and take it to the garage at La Guardia. What could be easier?
Getting the truck
TK goes to the loading bay at LaGuardia Airport, and finds a red Boltus.
TK I've got a bad feeling about this...
As soon as TK enters the truck, it turns out to be an ambush by the hitmen that TK had previously encountered.
Ray Something's screwed up! It's a trap! Get out, now!
TK escapes the loading bay via ramp, loses the tail and drives the truck to Ray's Autos.
Ray Man, you got some serious shit in here.
TK Yeah?
Ray A rocket launcher any good to you?
Post-Mission Cutscene (if Gate Crasher was also completed)
TK is loading his gun at Ray's Autos in Hunts Point. Suddenly, his phone starts ringing. TK answers the phone.
TK Yeah?
Bishop I put a contract out on you.
TK Bishop.
Cut to Bishop's mansion in Edgewater, New Jersey.
Bishop Know how much you've cost me?
TK Not enough.
Bishop You know, we can keep doing this forever - but I guess you don't want that either.
TK As long as it takes.
Bishop Let's finish it, face to face, my place. My guys'll stay out of it. You have my word.
Cut back to Ray's Autos.
TK Mmmmm, think I'll just kill you anyway.
Cut back to Bishop's mansion.
Bishop (chuckles) You can think it all you like. This is a chance to prove to yourself you can take me. One chance. Won't you always wonder?
Bishop's Wife Baby - you're missing your own party.
Bishop Gimme a minute, precious.
Bishop's Wife There's a room needs working, baby.
Bishop's wife walks away.
Bishop One chance.
Cut back to Ray's Autos.
TK When?
Cut back to Bishop's mansion.
Bishop Just get here. I'll be ready.

Trivia[]

  • The Boltus used during the mission is significantly more durable than it behaves in regular gameplay. It can take up to two RPG rockets before it bursts into flames, whereas in normal gameplay, like any other vehicle, it will explode on impact of a single explosion. This is likely done for gameplay balances; the mission is significantly difficult in that an RPG is fired almost instantly after gaining control over the player, this making it difficult to avoid rockets.
